  • Where are classes located?
Classes take place at the Hakalau Jodo Mission in the town of Hakalau on the Big Island of Hawaii. Please park on the grass behind the Jodo and enter the Social Hall on the lower level. Please remove your footwear before entering the Social Hall. Directions to Hakalau Jodo Mission: From the highway at the Hakalau/Wailea sign (mile marker 15) turn makai (toward the ocean) into Hakalau. Take the first left and you'll see the Jodo, a big white building, on your left. Turn left onto the driveway and park on the grass behind the buidling on the right.
  • How much are classes and how do I pay?
Classes are ten dollars each and paid at the time of class by cash or cheque.
  • What should I bring to class?
Please bring a yoga mat if you have one, if not, there are mats to borrow as well as any other props (blocks, blankets, straps) to use during class. Wear comfortable, loose fitting clothing and leave your shoes outside the Jodo.
  • Do I have to sign up for class ahead of time?
It is not necessary to sign up for class in advance but it certainly is appreciated and helpul to know who to expect in class especially if you're a new student.
  • Is there a Covid vaccination policy?
Yes I do require class participants to be fully vaccinated. Our practice space has several doors and windows which are usually open during class and there is plenty of room for us to spread out.
  • I have never done yoga before. Is that okay?
Yes! I welcome any and all levels of experience including no experience at all! There are always modifications to yoga postures that can be made with props and I strive to provide various options for the safety and comfort of my students.
